Sure, you can buy whipped cream at the grocery store if you’re in a hurry. But it’s nothing compared to the real thing.
And before you roll your eyes and think – “Lady, I have a life. I ain’t got time to stand around and make whipped cream!” – think again.
It takes 3 minutes. Maybe 4. And it is ridiculously simple. Try this recipe and you’ll never go back to the store-bought stuff.
Half pint heavy whipping cream
1 Tablespoon confectioners’ sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Pour confectioners’ sugar and vanilla into the base of a stand mixer. Add cold whipping cream. Using the machine’s whisk attachment, beat on high for a few minutes (until peaks begin to form. Stop machine. Give it a taste test. Voila! Brag to all your friends and relatives.
Bonus points: If you remember, throw the metal bowl into the freezer before you make it, so the bowl stays cold. If you forget, no worries.
Then, use your whipped cream to top your favorite desserts. I recently used it on my take on “The Grey Stuff” from “Beauty and the Beast.”
