You’ve thought about making your own baby food. You really like the idea.
But then there’s the mountain of dirty laundry, the grocery shopping, the actual taking care of the baby part that has zapped all your free time and energy. I get it. I really do.
So here’s a recipe that you can do in two minutes or less – at any time of the day or night. And without a steamer, a masher or any special equipment.
It’s so quick and so easy. It requires zero cooking skills. And it’s easy enough to keep a can of pumpkin in the pantry for those days when your fridge is looking bare.
So if you’ve thought about making your own baby food, start with this recipe. It’s a cinch and baby will love you for it.
Easy Peasy Pumpkin Banana Squeezy
1-15 ounce can solid pack pumpkin
1 or 2 medium ripe bananas
Open can of pumpkin puree. Dump into blender.
Peel banana. Add to blender.
(Okay, if you’re really fancy, you can dice the banana first, but if it’s really ripe you don’t have to worry about it.)
Blend until it’s the consistency of applesauce. Too thick? Add a little water to thin down the blend.
Why 1-2 bananas? It really depends on whether baby’s a banana fan or not.
Keep some of the blend in the fridge for the week, and label and date the rest for your freezer stockpile.
