Beauty and the Beast: ‘Be our guest’ with these party foods

Confession: I am pretty much as excited to see Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” live action remake as my 1991 crimped hair, scrunchie-wearing self was about the first movie.

I can’t wait to go see it and I may even take my daughter. Kidding!

I remember being obsessed with “Beauty and the Beast” when it first came out, and I have a feeling my daughter is going to be equally enamored. So, when we get to see the new “Beauty and the Beast,” I want to be ready with party foods that go along with the movie.

After reading that you can actually eat “The Grey Stuff,” I had to make it. Lil’ Luna has a recipe (below) that’s really easy, and so kid-friendly. And I just upgraded it with a dollop of homemade whipped cream and crowned it with pearl sprinkles.

Oh, and just try and read this list without singing “Be Our Guest” in your head.

Soup du’jour

Hot hors d’ oeuvres

Try the grey stuff. It’s delicious!

The ‘grey stuff’ from “Beauty and the Beast” is, as they say, delicious!

Beef ragout

Cheese souffle

Pie and pudding “en flambe” (Where’s the nearest fire extinguisher?)

With dessert, she’ll want tea

And my dear, that’s fine with me.

Headed to the movie? Let me know what you think in the comments below. And if you have a recipe to share for this “Beauty and the Beast” menu, share that as well.

Oh, ok. The song in its entirety (because I couldn’t stop humming it while writing this!)

  1. Super cute ideas! I need to try the grey stuff 🙂 My daughter is two and is prefers Pixar animation to traditional Disney animation so I am having a hard time getting her into beauty and the beast. I just may have to go by myself !!

    1. Thanks! They do such a nice job with all their movies! And it’s so fun sharing the movies I grew up with my girls. Some of the newer Disney princess ones are good too for the little ones. “Princess and the Frog” is a good one and so is “Moana”! Enjoy!

  2. Hey thanks! I’ve gotta say – the food blogger community has been so supportive and so friendly! I don’t have a Facebook for the site yet — on my to-do list. I’m on Twitter though: @GrowingSprouts2. I’ll join the FB group on my other account. Looks fun! Thanks for reading.
